Als erster erzgebirgischer Verein nach dem FC Erzgebirge Aue hat der FSV Motor Marienberg den Sprung in die Fußball-Oberliga geschafft. Dabei wurde das letzte Heimspiel zu einem Krimi.

Marienberg – Alles schien angerichtet für die Aufstiegsparty, als André Luge nach einem Querpass zum 1:0 traf (20.). Doch aus dem letzten Heimspiel der Saison, bei dem der Landesliga-Letzte Dresden Striesen im Lautengrundstadion zu Gast war, wurde für die Marienberger Kicker doch noch eine große Zitterpartie. Der Sieg, mit dem sich der FSV Motor den Traum von der Oberliga erfüllen konnte, erwies sich offenbar als mentale Last für die Gastgeber, die zeitweise den Faden verloren.

Die überraschend selbstbewusst auftretenden Elbstädter, die sich immer wieder mit ihrem Kurzpassspiel aus schwierigen Drucksituationen befreien konnten, kamen durch einen Konter zum Ausgleich. Eine scharfe Hereingabe fälschte Motor-Kapitän Pierre Bauer vor einem hinter ihm lauernden Dresdner unglücklich ins eigene Tor ab (41.). Zwar wurde es danach laut in der Motor-Kabine, doch auf dem Rasen herrschte trotz der 225 Zuschauer beängstigende Stille, als die Gäste nach einer Flanke per Kopf die 2:1-Führung besorgten (52.). Die große Party drohte zu platzen. Nur die Schreie von Trainer Ronny Rother waren zu hören, dessen Team gerade noch rechtzeitig aufwachte.

Kurz nach einem nicht gegebenen Abseitstor, das einen Weckruf darstellte, brachte Kevin Werner die Hoffnung wieder zurück (82.). Und sieben Minuten später war es wieder der Torjäger, der Verantwortung übernahm, nachdem ein Dresdner in einer nun hektischen Partie einen Schuss im Strafraum an den Arm bekommen hatte. Mit dem verwandelten Elfmeter versetzte Werner sein Team, die Bank und alle Fans ins Ekstase (89.). „Gehofft habe ich die ganze Zeit, aber bei so einem Verlauf kommen natürlich auch Zweifel“, gestand Rother, der im Nachhinein festhielt: „So bleibt dieses historische Spiel vielleicht mehr in Erinnerung, als wenn es 5:0 geendet hätte.“
